Pub 'Knowledge'

A Boys guide to the forthcoming hostelries, and those frequented in years gone by.

The Ashcott Inn
Circa 18th Century, the Blue Bowl as it was formerly known will be our first port of call at 11am for breakfast.  Normally renowned for being 'local', however, as a few of us actually come from the village we should be made very welcome.
Warning: The current proprietors speak with a very strange Eastern dialect which can be difficult to understand at times.  They do however, comprehend 'Zummerset' lingo.
Information correct at time of going to press.

The Halfway House
Situated on the Somerton to Langport road, this idealistic pub features a warm open fire which is as welcoming on cold days as equal as the bar staff are every day.  Plenty of European beers available to knock your socks off, if the Jalfrezi does not do so before.  Superb curries available, awarded best pub curry once upon a time.
English speaking, and thoughtful enough to provide urinals outside the bus stop opposite.

Remedies "Fun" Pub
At the end of East Reach in the heart of Taunton's bustling shopping precinct we find this boozer.  Comfy seats ideal for lounging in whilst playing the Queen of Whores.  Has been noted that the bar staff are a bit conservative when it comes to the language that is used.  Please do not use the words f*** or bugger.
This pub has toilets.
Famed for it's table football, this pub is a must for all to see.

Wetherspoons (Perkin Warbeck)
Boasting the longest bar in the South West, queuing in here for a drink is a bit of a mission.
It's a bit like watching starving Ethiopians queuing for aid packages from American helicopters.
Lots of ropey JDW beers avaialble.
Think Lantokay, but longer.

Market House
This pub is situated in the middle of the High Street, and plays host to a group of guys in fancy dress once a year.
These good looking lads use this venue to re-group after trips to McDonalds, Woolworths, Burger King, and any other stops on the way down from Spoons.
Set on 2 levels, it has been known for the rougher element of Taunton to visit this establishment.

Coal Orchard
Another Spoons pub.  Gets cramped really easily.  Probably because loads of Boys invade it at the same time.
Good place to pull birds if you are wearing a Banannaman costume, not so good if you look like Elvis.

The Old Library - Now the Pitcher and Piano!  Woohoo!!!!!
Still as big as it ever was, with toilets 1/2 mile away up winding stairs.
This is and excellent venue for Smurfs wanting to touch up their make up.

Yates'
Well, what can we say? It's a Yates'.

Toad/ something else/ another name.
This pub situated at the top of the pedestrianised part of town didn't let us in last year so screw em.

Winchester Arms
Again, don't think these let us in either.

Rat and Parrot.
This is the world renowned pub for making people fall asleep, or go home like big girls.
